Reformer Pilates
Reformer pilates encompasses the core principles of traditional pilates in the form of a specialised reformer machine. Designed to provide resistance and support, the reformer machine features a sliding carriage, springs, pulleys and straps. All elements function in harmony to provide a full-body workout consisting of controlled movement, whilst improving your core strength, flexibility and balance. Our reformer pilates classes are conducted in small groups (female-only & male-only) at our boutique studio, renowned for its spectacular views of the Herefordshire countryside. Whatever your personal motivations for attending our classes, you’ll find that the results speak for themselves - ultimately, it all starts with prioritising your physical and mental well-being first and foremost.

Every body is beautifully unique, all functioning slightly differently from one to another. Particularly as women, throughout different phases of life, our hormones hugely impact the way our bodies behave and feel.
Depending on your goals, fitness level and weekly schedule, we can support you in recommending which classes are best suited to you and how regularly you should attend, whether that’s once a week or more frequently.
We envision our sessions as not just another task to squeeze into the diary, but instead as something you make time for, as your chance to unwind and take a moment for you.

It’s no secret that pilates and yoga share many similarities, including benefits of improved flexibility and mindfulness. But there are some clear differences -
Yoga focuses more on deep breathing and mind-body-spirit connection whereas Pilates emphasises core strength and muscle tone through controlled movements.
Yoga holds and flows through the poses while Pilates consists of a range of distinctive exercises, often utilising specialised equipment such as the reformer machine.

Pilates is a low-impact form of exercise making it ideal for rehabilitation from injuries and post-surgery, in addition to supporting with a reduction of pain in our bodies long-term. For example, many of our clients choose pilates due to having back pain and consequently experience transformative results from our methods.
-
Our methods combine pilates movement with strength training resulting in an improvement in core strength, muscle tone, posture and overall fitness level. You’ll notice both a physical and mental shift - pilates is centred around breath work and mindfulness with our practices enabling you to manage stress better as well as experiencing improved mood and a renewed outlook on life.
-
Pilates is safe to practice throughout your pregnancy, with adaptations made throughout each trimester. We recommend integrating our pilates classes with our pelvic floor training which is essential in preparing your body for childbirth as well as postpartum.

Women’s bodies behave differently to men’s for 2 reasons - firstly a monthly cycle rather than a daily, and secondly an ever-changing life stage - from puberty, to pregnancy, to postpartum, to perimenopause and finally the menopause. The majority of women, at some point in their lives, suffer with hormone imbalance as well as chronic conditions such as endometriosis.
With a lack of research and development into female health, this motivates us to support as many women as possible with addressing their pain and in finding a balance between body and mind.
We are a community-centric studio, hoping to create a safe space for like-minded individuals to connect and lean on one another. Ultimately, what’s transformative about pilates is that it can be adapted to align with your cycle and stage of life, meaning you’re always challenging yourself just the right amount.
